The Yule Ball
The Bell House, 149 7th St., nr. Second Ave., Gowanus; 718-643-6510

Feed your need for Harry Potter to go on forever with other like-minded wizards! Costumes are encouraged at this night of holiday music and dancing, hosted by Harry and the Potters, who will be performing along with several other Potter-themed bands. If you’re the kind of lovable Muggle who would go to this, you were probably sold at the name, but it can’t hurt to know that $5 from each ticket will go to the Harry Potter Alliance (a social-justice nonprofit).

Price: $20

Justin Vivian Bond: Angels We Have Heard When High
Joe’s Pub, 425 Lafayette St., at Astor Pl.; 212-967-7555

Price: $35

DING DONG! Hollywood Hanukkah Party
UCB Chelsea, 307 W. 26th St., nr. Eighth Ave.; 212-366-9176

When two gentiles attempt to host a holiday party for their Jewish friends, comedy (and networking) ensue. UCB is always the ideal place for weird, life-changing, and a-little-confusing comedy shows, and the holiday theme can only make it a truly bizarre night — in a good way.
Date: December 9, 8 p.m.
Price: $5

Santa Suit 5K
